Austria-based, contemporary full-service lottery supplier, Novomatic Lottery Solutions (NLS), has chosen Norway’s national lottery, Norsk Tipping, to supply upwards of 50 percent of the “New Innovative Games” requested by the Hamar-headquartered lottery via a recent mini-competition. The full solution lottery provider together with its partner, Gamevy, supplier and operator of real-money games, will provide six innovative e-Instant games to the Norwegian Lottery.
Director of Product Management at NLS, Pall Palsson, said that the company is “thrilled” that their offering has “proven to be the best fit for Norsk Tipping’s sophisticated online games portfolio. NLS and Gamevy each proposed five innovative game concepts to Norsk Tipping in this mini-competition and each won three. This is a great validation of NLS’ strategy to both create innovative game content in-house and partner with leading industry suppliers such as Gamevy. The end result of this approach for Norsk Tipping players is more innovative games that will reach a younger target audience and ignite player excitement” according to the official press release.
This latest deal falls within the March 2017 contract between NLS and Norsk Tipping, which followed a competitive tender process. Under the contract terms, lottery’s e-Instant portfolio diversity and growth is supported by NLS and also sees it provide its business development proficiency in the area of interactive games, according to the press release.
In April, NLS announced that Frank Cecchini was, for personal reasons, stepping down from the role of Chief Executive Officer and that the company’s Chief Financial Officer and Managing Director at the time, Jakob Rothwangl, who has been with the firm for a decade, would be, in addition to his other duties, assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer.
